The most popular decorative aggregates are richly colored natural stones like marble,
granite, quartz and limestone.
Color varies widely based on geographic origin. Choices range from pastels such
as pink and rose quartz to the richer hues found in dark blue or red granite to
the earth tones which appear in black basalt, gray limestone and sandy brown river
gravel.
Size and shape also vary widely. Aggregate size ranges from 3/8" to 2"
or more in diameter, and is the chief factor in determining the depth of application.
Aggregate shape determines the surface pattern and texture, with rounded aggregates
offering the best coverage and a smoother surface, while angular varieties add texture
and dimension.
